Snyder Family Snow Session. Don’t the words “Snow Session” just get you giddy?!
When the Snyders asked me to photograph their family while they were in town visiting, there were two things they made very clear –
1. They would leave the details up to me.
2. They wanted photos of all four of them.
I was excited about both of those things. Getting to choose where we took the photographs had my heart smiling from the start! In my previous post about the Snyder Family, I shared some of my favorite portraits and how amazing it felt having mountains, a lake, and sunset accompanying us in the photographs. If you haven’t checked them out yet, you should. They’re awesome! 🙂
The second request – taking photographs of all four of them – was a little bit trickier. My sister Katie was the #4. Being a server, the week of Thanksgiving kept her pretty busy. The best weather day that we were to have that week – where jackets weren’t even needed – did not align with her being free to join us.
I decided that two Photography Sessions would be appropriate. It’d be the only way!
The next day off that Katie had was…you guessed it – Thanksgiving.
Luckily for me, I had already planned on spending the holiday with them as family. All we’d need to do was pop outside for a few moments before we stuffed ourselves with turkey. 🙂
Here’s some of the sweet, snowy moments we captured –
Margo had the cute idea for everyone to wear furry trapper/aviator hats. Talk about being prepared! I didn’t even know if we’d have the snow to pull it off. But we most certainly did. High up on a mountain in Conifer, Colorado, we couldn’t have asked for more perfect snow.
You know how I feel about these two lovebirds… 😉
After snapping these first few photos, I realized that while the snow swirling around was very pretty, I wanted to grab some portraits of everyone without the white fluffies in front of their faces.
Fortunately, we were standing on a deck and directly below was an open patio.
I directed everyone to head downstairs for some less flakey photos.
Much better!
I am loving these hats!
Now, I know that I already took a photo of BT and David the first time, but I had to snap another one during our snow session because…
I wanted to grab one of just the ladies together!

Because Katie couldn’t be with us for the first Snyder Family Photography Session, I stocked up on portraits of her and BT together during the Snyder Family Snow Session.
Isn’t this one just the sweetest?
Every time I look at it, I literally feel time stand still and get lost for a second.

Now this kind of flurries I like. 🙂 Surrounding them and surreal. But not blocking their beautiful faces.
After all of these sweet ones, I needed to bring our their silly, spontaneous sides. So I called out, “Wrap your arms around each other and squeeeeeze!”
Tight!!
So much fun. And this Conifer, Colorado, snow? Wowwee, what a treat!
As it neared turkey time, I brought the two couples back together one more time.
Mmmmm… Merry Christmas, right? 🙂
