The Golden Guest House

Golden Women in Business

A couple of summers ago, I attended my first (and embarrassingly only) gathering of Golden Women in Business.  The gathering was at The Golden Guest House in Golden, Colorado.  Located in downtown Golden and right across the street from the Golden History Museum and Park, it’s pretty much the perfect place to stay if you want to be downtown and stay in an actual home.

This particular part of Golden is my favorite.  I love popping into the Golden Public Library, walking my dog along Clear Creek, and then laying down in the cool grass of Lions Park Ballfields.  Anyway, a bunch of us female-owned Golden businesses met up at The Golden Guest House to snack, sip, and network.

While at this Golden Women in Business meeting, I connected with our host – the owner of The Golden Guest House.  Her name is Laura Herb.  I remember her seeming quiet, kind, and down-to-earth.  We didn’t chat much, but she graciously gave all of us a tour of the entire home which included her more personal quarters.  What a generous gal to let us get all up in her space!

The Golden Guest House

Such a cool space!  I remember walking around in it in awe.  The bold colors, the neat textures, the design.  And seeing the mountains and blue sky through the windows as sunlight poured in?!  My kinda place!!  I kept thinking about much fun it’d be to photograph.  Little did I know that two years later, I would get to do just that!

This was in the summer of 2017.  So, after nearly two years, Laura reaches out to me about photographing portraits of her and her daughter Nina.  In addition to those family portraits, we arrange for me to also photograph the entire inside of The Golden Guest House.

I spent a special weekend there in October, and it was fantastic.  Check out my new favorite place to stay in downtown Golden!  😉

Laura and Nina

Also, while I’m at it, I kinda wanna show off those mother-daughter portraits that I took of Laura and Nina!  Their family photography session was such a treat for me.  A little mixture of both candid and posed, taken right outside of their home, their portraits were natural and naturally beautiful.  And in one of my favorite places!  So Colorado.  🙂

I’m sharing the images from that session below, but to read more about that session, click here – Laura and Nina.

Professional Photographer

I love being a professional photographer in Colorado.  Working with Laura gave me the opportunity to show off my skills both as a family photographer and a real estate photographer!  While I now live in Lakewood, Colorado, my first four years living in this state were spent in Golden.  While I’ve always considered myself to primarily be a Denver family photographer, I love traveling and am more than happy to do that to photograph.  Actually, especially to photograph!  🙂

If you have any questions or would like to book me, please call me at (618) 660-6863 or email me at [email protected]!

In general, I’m known for my fast turnaround time, so my families usually don’t have to wait more than a week to see their final images.  And when it comes to photographing homes, my same-day real estate photography sets me apart from most Denver real estate photographers.  I’m happy to help you – just let me know!
