Jamie and Adrian

Gal Pals

In November of 2015, I attended my first leads group meeting at the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce.  This group may sound familiar.  I’ve mentioned it many times in the past.  I credit Leads Group 7 for much of Sweet Green Photography’s success.  It built up my confidence as a new business owner, brought me most of my business the first couple years, and provides me with a supportive community that feels like family.  Through it, I’ve also made some good friends.  Jamie is one of them.

When I looked around the room at that first meeting, Jamie stood out to me because she seemed to be close in age to me.  And when I heard her mention Van Morrison, I knew we would be friends.  Since then, Jamie has left the group, but I visit her at Salon Hether’s in Arvada.  Every 6-8 weeks, she expertly cuts my hair and makes me feel way more stylish than I really am.  And when I’m craving my favorite brunch spot in Denver, she happily accompanies me to Snooze: an AM Eatery.

Over these last few years, Jamie and I have seen each through the biggest relationship breakups of our lives.  We both ventured back out into the dating world at the same time.  Learning from each other, we supported each other, exchanged tips, and shared juicy stories.  We both found guys that enlivened us, challenged us, and helped us figure out who we are.  Within weeks of each other, another rough breakup followed for each of us.  Now, finally, we have found the men of our dreams!!  🙂

I was so happy to meet hers.  Adrian.

Jamie and Adrian

From the very first time Jamie spoke of him last year, I’m pretty sure we both knew that he was “the one” for her.  Jamie and Adrian are a perfect fit.  “When you know, you know,” she recently explained to me.

Naturally, when Jamie asked me to photograph their marriage ceremony, I was both honored and ecstatic.  And curious too!  This would be my first time photographing a courthouse wedding!  Instead of the main courthouse for the city and county of Denver – Lindsay Flannigan Courthouse – Jamie and Adrian’s judge married them at Van Cise-Simonet Detention Center.  Jamie and Adrian invited their parents, and my heart melted a little.  It was all way more romantic than I was expecting.

I love how their portraits turned out.

Photos from the actual ceremony to come.  🙂

I could get used to being a Denver courthouse wedding photographer!
